At home, on-the-go, at work or play, people are on their mobile devices more than ever. According to a recent study by Informate, Americans are averaging 4.7 hours a day on their smartphones.
What does that mean for your email marketing? Well, with these new mobile insights in hand, you can begin to work on optimizing your email sends for all devices.
The first step: Think small. By small, I don’t mean small text and images, but the size of a smartphone screen. While larger than ever before, mobile screens are still very small compared to a desktop or laptop computer. If a substantial percentage of your email recipients are opening on their smartphones, you need to make sure your emails are optimized to be mobile-friendly and easy-to-read and interact with.
The next step: Content. The more content you have, the more the user will have to scroll down, which is something most mobile-device users don’t want to do!
Last step: Call To Action. Now more than ever, here is where you can get the user to click on your “Shop Now” button or your “Learn More” button to take them directly to your online location AKA website!
