Creative AI is “the simulation of creativity in machines.” Just like humans, talent is developed over time with practice and repetition. And as we now know, AI is a self-reliant software, continually improving without human intervention. Creative AI will continue to grow and improve as time moves forward. Creative outlets practiced by AI include, but are not limited to, photoshop, music, entertainment, poetry, digital art, writing, and more. One of the most popular creative AI sources, DALL-E, has proven just how influential creative AI art can be, with pieces of generated art selling for nearly $500,000. With such capabilities, many fear AI will replace the jobs of many creatives around the world. The Harris Poll reported about 50% of workers are wary of generative AI, and 38% of professionals believe AI is a fad that will soon die down. But, to the dismay of that 38%, research suggests AI will not be leaving anytime soon, or really at all.

The Harrison Poll does next express concern about the jobs of creatives, and here is why:

  1. AI can’t replace human ingenuity. Though it can produce amazing pieces, AI is limited in its experiences. Often, humans create based on things they have seen, felt, tasted, etc. AI has the disadvantage of not truly knowing what each sense contributes to creation. So even though creative AI is a wonderful resource, it is not a replacement for human creativity.
  2. Creative AI is intended to be used as a tool, not competition. Ultimately, AI is here to help us advance and do the leg work. AI was not created to completely replace humans. Though it does complete tasks for us if needed, it again does not have the capability to completely take over.

Have you tried using creative AI? Maybe you have, just in ways you don’t realize. If you want to further explore creative AI, look into OpenAI. Remember, keep creating and use AI as assistance. Need help with a project? We are here to assist! Contact us today to learn more!
